The Friendly Food Race

Late one night in the kitchen, the fruits and vegetables decided to have a friendly race.

The banana slipped on his peel and rolled along laughing. The round orange rolled beside him saying, “Wheee!”

The carrot hopped like a bunny, while the pear waddled like a penguin. The tomato wasn’t sure if it should race with the fruits or vegetables, so it became the cheerful referee!

“Ready, set, grow!” called the tomato, and everyone giggled at the silly starting words.

They all crossed the finish line together, holding hands (well, stems and peels). The refrigerator light was their spotlight as they took a group bow.

“We’re all winners when we have fun together!” they agreed, before settling back into their fruit bowl for a good night’s sleep.
